7 days until our anniversary

Yay, a week of celebrating Big Daddy and me. We don’t really have a designated song; but, I think if we did this would be it. This song came out a week or so before we began dating and it is still the song that stops me in my tracks and makes me think of Big Daddy when I hear it.

You’re a song
Written by the hands of god
Don’t get me wrong cause
This might sound to you a bit odd
But you own the place
Where all my thoughts go hiding
And right under your clothes
Is where I find them

Underneath Your Clothes
There’s an endless story
There’s the man I chose
There’s my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey

Because of you
I forgot the smart ways to lie
Because of you
I’m running out of reasons to cry
When the friends are gone
When the party’s over
We will still belong to each other

Underneath Your Clothes
There’s an endless story
There’s the man I chose
There’s my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey

I love you more than all that’s on the planet
Movin’ talkin’ walkin’ breathing
You know it’s true
Oh baby it’s so funny
You almost don’t believe it
As every voice is hanging from the silence
Lamps are hanging from the ceiling
Like a lady tied to her manners
I’m tied up to this feeling

Underneath Your Clothes
There’s an endless story
There’s the man I chose
There’s my territory
And all the things I deserve
For being such a good girl honey

The end

cowboy-helmetI am, gasp, not a football fan. Big Daddy, however, religiously watches the Cowboys and OU(Oklahoma University) every Monday, Saturday, Sunday, or any other day they happen to play.  So, for this house, the football season is officially over.  No more rushing home so there isn’t a missed game, no more getting booted from the tv because a game is starting.  I’m FREE, at least until pre season starts in a couple of months.  Woo hoo!!!

Wow, it has been quite awhile

Not too much has happened around here. We are making an adjustment to homeschooling Monkey, he loves it. I thought he would resist but not yet. My only concern for him is that I worry he is too smart. I’m not even sure if that is a legitimate worry and as far as parenting worries can go I’ll gladly take that one. I guess really my concern lies with the decision that we will make in two years as to whether to continue homeschooling or to put him in public school. If he gets too far ahead he will be miserable but on the other hand I don’t want to hold him back.  He is starting to add and subtract. I tested him on his preprimer words and he knew 67% already. He does a couple of Headsprout episodes a week and consistently scores between 94 and 98. I was talking with a friend and she told me that upon succesfully completeing the program the child is at a beginning 3rd graders reading level.  He is almost half way right now. Last week  gave him a pattern of worksheets with patterns on them, we’d never done it before. The beads were green, purple, green, purple, etc. I asked him “What do you think the next color is?”  He replied, “White”. I pointed out the other beads and again he said white I told him it was only white because he needed to pick the next color. Light bulb. I then told him to see what he thought the next one should be. I looked away and he said done. I looked down and he had completed the work sheet… It’s things like that, that make me think if he were in public school he would drive the teacher crazy. Finishing quickly and then talking or clowning around.  Enough about that, besides a lot can happen in 2 years.

Lets see what else has happened… we had a pregnancy scare and I realized just how DONE I am with having kids.   I was so flippin’ relieved to find out that I wasn’t. If Big Daddy doesn’t hurry up and get a V I swear I will google a how to tutorial and do the damn thing myself.

Princess P is once again sprouting teeth. She is finally getting her 4th bottom front tooth and I think at least two of her eye teeth are coming it. I guess she is sort of filling in since she has had her two year molars for a month or two now.gy

Also, while under the watchful eye of her father Princess P managed to drop the external hard drive rendering it completely useless when attached to the computer but it is still usable when hooked to the PS3, hum go figure. I had all of my pictures on there and had not gotten around to backing up 2009 so had a mini panic attack until we ran a recovery program a couple of days ago. I will be doing backup cds tomorrow probably. I’m also working on uploading them to two online storage places. Big Daddy doesn’t get it but I would be completely devistated to lose our pictures of Monkey and Princess P.

Monkey started gymnastics 4 weeks ago.  We are taking him to ASI and he really enjoys it. We had a small issue with him trying to leave his class and join the “boy class” in his words he doesn’t want to be in the “easy class”  Ugh, can I get a rolling eyes smilie right there?

Well sorry for a long post with lots of words and no pictures but there you go with a month and a halfish of catch up.

Rockband 2 is awesome!

Monkey and Princess P future rockers

I think most people who have small children or younger siblings already know that the original Rock band didn’t come with a no fail cheat.  It really made playing with Monkey a pain.

We could never make it through a song no matter how well Big Daddy and I were playing.  Now that Princess P is wanting to play as well we just had no hope.  So last weekend we bit the bullet and went ahead and purchased Rockband 2 (it comes with the no fail cheat). Wow, I don’t know why we waited so long, it was so nice, to be able to play and get through a song.

And of course, now that we have the no fail Monkey got 100% while singing/mumbling a Beastie Boys song.

Slip n Slide

Monkey walking on slip n slide

We were in the clearance section at Walmart and happened to see a Slip n Slide for $5. We couldn’t pass up that opportunity so we bought it, brought it home, and got it all set up. I’m not sure who was more excited about it, Big Daddy and I or Monkey.

At first, Monkey didn’t really get it. He loved that this piece of plastic was shooting water but didn’t get the whole slip n slide part of it. He walked up and down, sat on it, laid on it, took his truck up and down it like it was a rode.

But, then Big Daddy and I got in on the action and we spent the day slippin’ and slidin’ and pushing Monkey (who refused to do it himself.)  We really had a blast. I had never played on one, I was too chicken when I was a child.  Thankfully there is no photographic evidence of me sliding, I’m sure it wouldn’t be pretty.

Big Daddy on the Slip n Slide

We tried to get Princess P in on the action by putting her in my lap and then having Big Daddy push me but she didn’t really dig it.  So she hung out in the little baby pool and had fun filling it up with mulch.

attack of the killer mosquitos

I guess they weren’t really killer mosquitos but our house was covered in a swarm of mosquitos last night. It was insane. Bid Daddy went to take the trash out with Monkey and Princess P in tow. He made a comment about the mosquitos but I didn’t really pay attention. He had 3 on his back that I batted off as I grabbed Monkey and headed to the mail box. As soon as I stepped outside I was surrounded by the little beasts. The buzzing was scary. I was swatting at myself like a crazy person and swatting at Monkey to keep them off of him. By the time we made it across the street and down the two houses Monkey was crying and I was close to it. So without getting the mail I picked him up and ran back to the house. Once inside we waged war on the ones that had gotten in the house. We killed 2 dozen before I stopped counting. When we let the dogs in we discovered that they had also been out back. Neo doesn’t look to be too badly affected by them but he also has longer hair. Poor Turbo was covered, COVERED!, in bites and was scratching up a storm.
